About My Approach

Perhaps you have a good idea of what’s bothering you, or like many others, maybe you don’t. Either way, you probably want to feel some sense of hope that things can be different. I believe that they can.

A little bit about myself: I was born in Chicago but grew up in Sweden, which is why my name is spelled differently. I enjoy listening to and making music, reading, being outdoors, bountiful coffee, watching hockey, and spending time with my family.

I have particular clinical expertise and interest in anxiety disorders, OCD, depression, trauma, relationship issues, addictions, difficult life adjustments, and grief. I have extensive experience working with people from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and I regularly work with people in the LGBTQIA+ community. I have worked primarily with millennials and Gen Z clients throughout my career, but I love working with all adult age groups.

I graduated with my MSW from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017, and received my post-graduate clinical training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. I I am formally trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and I have completed numerous courses of advanced study in psychodynamic psychotherapy.

As for my therapy approach, my primary goal is to provide you with a safe space to talk about anything you want. I think you’ll find much relief in simply having an unbiased professional with whom you can freely share whatever is on your mind. Together, we will do everything from addressing and resolving the more obvious concerns in your life, to diving deeper and discovering the source(s) of your troubles and true self. I also enjoy incorporating existential and humanistic technique as welcomed. Of note, I specifically use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to treat OCD.

If even a small part of you is curious to see how things could be different, I sincerely hope that we get the chance to work together!
